My name is Ashley Steinberg and I am in my fourth year at Central Connecticut State
University. Recently, I had the honor
of being accepted to the Professional Program in the School of Education
and Professional Studies. Since my acceptance, I have begun to take part in many new and exciting opportunities. One of these
opportunities includes the experience of fieldwork in the classroom where I look forward to gaining much knowledge.
I have many interests, but what interests me the most is
the learning process. I am especially fascinated with the development of each individual child, and the idea that every child
learns at their own pace and in their own unique way. I am interested in the theory of multiple intelligences and its implementation
in the classroom.
I have always wanted to be an elementary school teacher.
I have loved children ever since I can remember and the thought of teaching children excites me. My childhood memories with
my brother, my years in babysitting, and my on going experiences in a child care setting have all had an impact on my dreams
of becoming a teacher. Through my personal experiences and classes that I have
completed to this point, I have learned that it is important for teachers to have good values, beliefs, and ideas. A teacher will act as a role model, an evaluator, a communicator, a disciplinarian, and a counselor. Being a teacher is a very rewarding occupation and I look forward to the day when
I have my own classroom but in the mean time, I look forward to working with all of you.
